ATA Cables Hard Disk Drive Cables IDE Cables

ATA Cables also referred to as IDE Cables allow you to connect hard drives and CD/DVD Drives to each other and to your computers motherboard. There have been a number of different ATA standards; ATA33, ATA66, ATA100, ATA133. Nowadays the ATA100/133 standard remains.

Each built on the previous standard and allowed for data to be transferred between the systems at greater speeds. If your PC is above 500Mhz then you will be using at least ATA100 anything lower can use one of the above standards. If it does simple ensure the hard drive and cable use a compatable rating.
